Love the one you're with...Seems like an easy concept doesn’t it.  Especially when we think back to our engagement, and our perspective of life was viewed through those rose-colored glasses.  Who wouldn’t love the one we chose to travel down the path of life with? Who wouldn’t appreciate all those little idiosyncrasies?   Seriously, how could we have found anyone more suited for us…who could be funnier, cuter or more kind and compassionate?

Then life happens.  A few months, or years down that path and we begin to wonder…who took my considerate husband and left me with this snoring machine?  What happened to my precious little wife?  Why doesn’t she enjoy catering to my every need any longer?  I must have picked the wrong person!  This is just not going to work!  I deserve better than this!

Actually, you do…or your spouse does…in fact, you both deserve better, and that’s why we are here.  Jeff and I understand how you feel.  We experienced the struggles of loving the one you’re with, but we know it is possible, in fact, we are certain you are meant to love your spouse with a much deeper and richer love than when you repeated your “I do’s”.  How can this happen?  It begins with the Creator of marriage and His plan for a lifetime of fulfillment.

Yes, we will be required to make changes as we dive into God’s plan.  Such as Philippians 2:3-4,  “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.”  I know what you are thinking, but trust me, this works!  It works to put your spouse first, seeking to please the one in your life, sacrificing for their good.  But I think it is something you must experience in order to grasp.

Here is your opportunity to get started!  We will be facilitating the 6-week marriage study, Love & War: Finding the Marriage You’ve Dreamed of, beginning Wednesday, February 15, and Sunday, February 19.  You have two choices of times to attend…we want this to work for you.  Look for more information soon at IBC.  Don’t miss this opportunity to have that dream marriage with the one you’re with!
